Update: As you may recollect, on June 15, 2015, AEP filed an application to update its Basic Transmission Cost Rider (BTCR), the establishment of which was approved by the Commission in the AEP ESP III case. AEP’s current Transmission Cost Recovery Rider (TCRR) and BTCR rates were approved by the Commission in its May 28, 2015 Entry on Rehearing in the AEP ESP III case.

In its application, AEP sought authority to adjust its BTCR rates for the twelve-month period from September 2015 through August 2016 to reflect an average decrease of approximately 5.21%.   On August 4, 2015, the Commission’s staff (Staff) filed its report and recommendations relating to AEP’s application. The Staff report concludes that the proposed BTCR rates reflect the projected costs through August 31, 2016. The Staff report also details that Staff will reconcile actual data for June 2015 through May 2016 in the next annual audit, and will also audit the May 31, 2015 TCRR ending balance prior to May 2016.
