Update: Briefs opposing AEP’s PPA settlement request were filed this week by OMA Energy Group and nine others. AEP and five others filed briefs in support. OMA Energy Group explained in its brief that the PUCO should reject the PPA settlement because it is “unfaithful to the General Assembly’s unambiguous market-based directive and will thwart the state’s effectiveness in the global economy.” Numerous customers continue to file letters in the docket opposing AEP’s (as well as FirstEnergy’s) PPA request. A group of power producers and marketers have also begun to run radio and TV advertisements against the utility bailouts.
