Update: The evidentiary hearing on FirstEnergy’s electric security plan application and accompanying stipulations featured testimony this week from OMA Energy Group witnesses Dr. Edward Hill and John Seryak. Both OMA Energy Group witnesses were impressive in responding to criticisms from attorneys for FirstEnergy, OEG, and IEU-Ohio. Despite having to endure hours of motions to strike, Dr. Hill did a terrific job of defending his testimony. The Commission heard additional testimony from intervenor witnesses representing Staff, Ohio Partners for Affordable Energy, and the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel, among others. FirstEnergy has announced its intent to file five pieces of rebuttal testimony on Monday and Tuesday of next week; and, thus, the hearing will continue through the end of the month.
