Update: On October 3, 2013, the attorney examiner issued an entry establishing a hearing date to evaluate Republic Steel’s application for a unique arrangement.  Recall that Republic filed an application requesting the PUCO to approve a unique arrangement with Ohio Edison Company (“FirstEnergy”) in order to expand its production facility in Lorain, Ohio, including the installation and operation of an Electric Arc Furnace (“EAF”).  The hearing will take place on November 14, 2013 at the PUCO.  The OMAEG has reserved our rights to adopt a position once we have had an opportunity to analyze customer impacts.
