Update: The evidentiary hearing on FirstEnergy’s electric security plan (ESP) application and stipulations continued this week, with FirstEnergy witnesses testifying on the return on equity for FirstEnergy Solutions for the proposed PPA, the financial need of the plants at issue, the impact of environmental compliance on costs at the plants over the term of the proposed PPA, and other topics. Next week, among other issues, witnesses will testify on the economic impact of the plants on their surrounding communities and the state of Ohio and the costs of transmission upgrades that may be needed if the plants at issue are retired.

Additionally, on September 14, 2015, FirstEnergy filed an errata to the supplemental testimony of witness Evans, which updated the testimony he previously offered to account for the issuance of the Clean Power Plan final rule.
